I love it’ – Pep Guardiola opens up on Kevin De Bruyne row during Man City’s win against Real Madrid

Pep Guardiola insists he ‘loved’ the tense exchange he encountered with Kevin De Bruyne during the 4-0 win over Real Madrid.

City booked their place in the Champions League final with a scintillating display against the reigning holders.

Despite City being in cruise control against Carlo Ancelotti’s side, Guardiola and De Bruyne were seen shouting at each other.

The Belgian was sprinting with the ball into Madrid’s half when the City boss could be heard screaming at his midfield star to pass the ball.

De Bruyne was then dispossessed and instead of opting to win the ball back, he was seen throwing his arms into the arm and telling the Spaniard to ‘shut up.’

Guardiola spoke to reporters ahead of this weekend’s pivotal clash at home to Chelsea and explained why he enjoyed the stand off with his midfield star.

“The reaction with Kevin I love it,” said the Manchester City boss. “We shout at each other and I love it. I like this step from Kevin…I like it.

“So sometimes in some games it’s like a little bit flat and I like this energy [from him].”
